Multi-Agency Working
Multi-agency working has a distinct advantage for general safeguarding policy design and day-to-day operations. Most Safeguarding Partnerships and their various subgroups will be made up of a range of attendees from agencies such as:
Local Authority departments such as Social Care, Public Health, Licensing, and Housing.
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT)
Essex Police and the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex
Care Quality Commission (CQC)
East of England Ambulance Trust
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service
NHS England
North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT)
Local housing associations and housing providers
The Probation Service and local rehabilitation organisations
Local colleges and universities
Southend Association of Voluntary Services
Representing various groups in the Southend Safeguarding Partnership (SSP) meetings ensures that the local community is best served by policies that are drawn up after careful consideration and following advice from a range of viewpoints. The presence of the various agencies also allows the SSP to co-ordinate services and monitor the effectiveness of the Partnership members’ policies and procedures, and working in conjunction with Essex and Thurrock Safeguarding Adult Boards ensures an integrated and cohesive collection of policies and procedures across the county.
