Early intervention for Neurodivergent differences in the primary years up to 16; providing personalised packages for individual children so they can thrive despite their differences.
Raw Learning provides early help for neurodiversity through a combination of therapeutic, child-led, and nature-based educational approaches aimed at children aged 5 to 16 who are neurodivergent or suspected to be so, and who may struggle to engage with mainstream education due to anxiety or other challenges.
Key Ways Raw Learning Supports Early Help for Neurodiversity
-Screening and Identification
Raw Learning offers screening for neurodivergent differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and dyspraxia. Early identification helps tailor support and address individual challenges before they escalate.
The process includes listening to both the child and their parents, ensuring that each child’s unique needs are understood and validated.
Therapeutic and Well-being Focus
The environment is designed to reduce anxiety and build confidence. Raw Learning uses therapeutic forest school principles, where children can explore, discover, and learn at their own pace in a natural setting.
Activities are chosen to support well-being, autonomy, and self-expression, helping children reconnect with learning when traditional school environments have become overwhelming.
Child-Led and Flexible Learning
Learning is self-directed and flexible, allowing children to engage from their own starting points and interests. This approach respects neurodivergent children’s need for autonomy and creative development.
Group sizes are kept small and relationships are built on trust, with facilitators called by their first names to foster strong social connections.
Re-engagement Programme
Raw Learning runs a programme specifically for neurodivergent children who may have developed high levels of anxiety or avoidance presentation due to unmet needs or lack of appropriate support.
The programme aims to rebuild confidence, reduce anxiety, and help children transition back into other forms of education, with a reported 70% re-engagement rate within a year.
Community and Parental Involvement
Raw Learning trains the community to understand neurodiversity, promoting acceptance and support for neurodivergent children beyond the school environment.
Parental involvement is encouraged, with open communication and support pathways tailored to each family’s needs
