Adult Safeguarding – Roles and Competencies for Healthcare Staff:

The Southend Safeguarding Partnership (SSP) programme of multi-agency training, combining directed or face-to-face learning and eLearning options, is currently under review and we do not currently have a training offer. There are however a number of excellent providers delivering both e-learning and face to face safeguarding training in the marketplace.

Historically e-learning has been delivered via Virtual College  https://www.virtual-college.co.uk/, and a number of organisations in the area use EduCare https://www.educare.co.uk/.

Southend Borough Council also offer safeguarding training to the care sector www.southendtrainingnetwork.co.uk  and any queries on their training can be directed to [email protected]. Essex Safeguarding Adults Board and Thurrock Local Safeguarding Children’s Board also provide e-learning training for Safeguarding which can be accessed via their websites. Please note it is the responsibility of organisations to assure themselves of the quality and relevance of any safeguarding training to their workforce.”

The Social Care Institute for Excellence provide training that fits many of the safeguarding needs of Partners. Much of the training is theme and role specific and is avaialble here.
